Frequently Asked Questions
What is cuddle therapy?
Cuddle therapy is a professional, platonic wellbeing service that uses safe, consensual touch to support emotional and physical health. Sessions are not massage, not counselling, and not romantic in any way. They are simply a space to experience warmth, human connection, and the kind of comfort that most of us do not get enough of.
Is it sexual?
No. There is no sexual element whatsoever. Cuddle therapy is a professional service, and every session is strictly platonic. No touching of intimate areas. No exceptions. If anything happens that crosses a boundary, the session ends immediately.
Who uses cuddle therapy?
All sorts of people. Those who live alone, those going through bereavement or relationship breakdown, people with social anxiety, those recovering from illness or trauma, and people who simply recognise they are touch-deprived and want to do something about it. You do not need a reason beyond wanting to feel better.
What actually happens in a session?
We start with a conversation. You tell me what you are comfortable with and what you would like from the session. From there, it unfolds at your pace. Typical sessions involve sitting or lying comfortably together, a hand held, an arm around a shoulder. You are always in control. Nothing happens without your consent, and you can pause or stop at any time.
Do I need to have done anything like this before?
No. Most clients have not. First sessions often involve a longer conversation before any contact, and that is completely fine. There is no rush.
Where do sessions take place?
I come to you. Sessions take place at your home or another suitable private location. You do not need to travel anywhere unfamiliar.
How much does it cost?
A single 1-hour session is £80. A package of 3 sessions is £210, saving £10 per session.
What training do you have?
I trained with Cuddle Professionals International (CPI), the leading professional body for cuddle therapists in the UK. CPI sets the standards for safe, ethical practice across the profession, and I am listed on their directory.
Is it safe?
Yes. Sessions are consent-led throughout. A trusted third party holds my session details including time, location, and a copy of your ID for mutual safety. Sessions may be recorded for accountability. All clients must be 18 or over and may be asked for photo ID.
I'm curious but not sure. Can I ask questions first?
Of course. Email me at info@thehuglife.co.uk before booking. There is no pressure and no obligation. Most people find that one conversation is enough to put any uncertainty to rest.
